Academic Year (AY)

A defined period covering all academic terms for a school year. Each AY may contain multiple terms or semesters. In Grado, it is the basis for class schedules, enrollment, and rollover.

Advisers

Faculty members assigned to guide students during enlistment and enrollment. Accessible under the Advisers module (Admin Portal) and the Advisees section (Faculty Portal).

Advising

The process where faculty guide students during enrollment or enlistment, reviewing class loads and approving subject choices. Managed via the Faculty Portal or Admin Portal.

Announcements

Official notices or updates published by the school administration. Displayed in the dashboards of Admin, Faculty, and Student portals.

Assessment

The process of computing and publishing student fees based on student's enlisted subjects, fee templates, and applicable discounts.

Assessment Template

A predefined structure that determines how student fees are computed based on program, curriculum, or year level. Admins can create general or personal templates.

Attendance

A record of student presence in class. Faculty encode attendance in the Faculty Portal, and administrators can view summaries in reports.

Auto-Rollover

A feature allowing automatic duplication of key configurations (curriculum, subjects, fee structures) from the previous academic year to the new one.

Batches

Groupings of students based on their year of entry or program cohort. Used for reporting, enrollment analysis, and graduation tracking.

Billing

The process of generating and managing student fee statements, often tied to assessment and payment modules.

Buildings

Physical campus structures that contain rooms used for class scheduling and section assignments.

Bulk Create

A permission-based action allowing administrators to create multiple records (such as classes or courses) at once. Found under selected modules that support mass record generation.

Bulk Uploader

A tool for importing large sets of data (students, classes, grades) via CSV templates. Found under Configuration → System Setup → Bulk Uploaders.

Change Grades

A module used for faculty-initiated or admin-approved grade adjustments after official submission. The process typically requires validation and approval under the Grades Management module.

Checklist

A list of courses or subjects that a student must complete to fulfill their program requirements. Linked to Curriculums and Programs for academic tracking.

Courses

Academic class offerings per term, linked to a subject, faculty member, and schedule. The Courses module contains one of the most detailed permission sets in Grado.

Curriculum

Structured academic plans defining the sequence of subjects under a degree program or specialization. Each curriculum is linked to programs and transmutation settings.
