Understanding Dual-Role Access

Some users serve as both administrators and teachers

Grado supports dual-role accounts, letting you switch between Admin and Faculty views without logging out.

Dual Roles in Grado

Dual-role users perform both management and teaching functions—like department heads or program chairs.

Each role opens its own portal:

  • Admin View – for managing records, assessments, and reports.

  • Faculty View – for handling classes, grade sheets, and advising.

💡 You log in once. Switching changes the interface and permissions, not your account.

How to Switch Views

By default, users with dual roles are directed to the Faculty Dashboard after signing in.

When in Faculty View

  1. Click the hamburger icon (☰) at the top left.

  2. The side menu opens.

  3. Click Switch to Admin View.

  4. The page reloads and displays the Admin dashboard.

Tips for Dual-Role Users

💡 Save work before switching; unsaved entries won’t carry over.
💡 Verify your active view before making changes.
💡 Role-specific announcements appear only in that view.
